    Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 Leaks: A Bold, iOS-Inspired Future

Hey Geeks, grab your chargers and settle in, because the first leaks of Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 are here, and they’re making some serious waves. Thanks to a user survey that seems to have jumped the gun, we’ve got our first look at the next generation of Xiaomi’s operating system, and the changes are more than just skin deep. It looks like Xiaomi is taking a page out of Apple’s design book, and the result is a cleaner, more streamlined UI that’s sure to get people talking.

A Fresh Coat of Paint: iOS-Style Icons and a Cleaner Home Screen

The most immediate change you’ll notice in the leaked images is the redesigned icon set. With a unified, sophisticated look, the new icons in HyperOS 3 bear a striking resemblance to those in iOS 18. This move towards a more uniform aesthetic is a significant departure from previous versions and signals a new design direction for Xiaomi.

But it’s not just the icons that are getting a makeover. The home screen itself has been decluttered with the removal of the persistent search bar at the bottom. This creates a more minimalist feel, putting your apps and widgets front and center. It’s a small change, but it makes a big difference in the overall look and feel of the OS.

Subtle But Significant: New Battery Indicator and “Glass UI” Effects

The devil is in the details, and HyperOS 3 has some interesting new details. The battery indicator, for instance, has been redesigned to look more like the one found on iPhones, with a rounder shape and clearer fonts. It’s a subtle tweak, but it contributes to the overall impression of a more polished and premium user experience.

Beyond the more obvious changes, HyperOS 3 also incorporates “Glass UI” effects. This design trend, which uses blur and transparency to create a sense of depth, adds a touch of visual flair to the system. While not a full-blown transparent UI, these effects give the interface a more modern and sophisticated look.

Under the Hood and Coming Soon

HyperOS 3 is expected to be built on both Android 15 and Android 16, with the specific version depending on the device and rollout schedule. And speaking of rollouts, Xiaomi is planning to bring the update to an impressive 96 devices across its Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO lineups.

The official announcement is expected in October 2025, so we’ll have to wait a few more months to see the final version. But if these leaked images are any indication, Xiaomi users have a lot to look forward to.
